Overview

Harrison Cyber needed a website that could clearly communicate complex cybersecurity services to a diverse audience ranging from technical experts to non-technical business decision-makers, while also positioning the company as credible and scalable.

The website needed to effectively showcase the company's expertise and build trust with potential clients.

Kick-off + Defining Use Cases

I collaborated closely with the founder of Harrison Cyber to gain a clear understanding of the company’s offerings. This helped me build a foundational knowledge of key cybersecurity concepts and clarify how each service delivers value to clients. I also reviewed websites of leading cybersecurity firms to understand content structure and navigation patterns, messaging strategies for technical vs. non-technical users, and information depth across service pages.

We identified the primary audiences Harrison Cyber aimed to serve and distilled them into two core use cases. These use cases helped narrow the focus and guided decisions around content and structure.

Use Case 1:

I need to secure my organization but I am unsure what services I need and want to explore.

Use Case 2:

I know exactly what I need and I want to see if this firm provides the services I need.

Planning for Scalability

Based on the defined use cases, I developed a sitemap that balances depth and clarity of information. A key decision was choosing between a single-page and multi-page structure.

We opted for a multi-page architecture over a single-page layout to guarantee the platform could scale easily as Harrison Cyber expands its service offerings and adds case studies and research blog posts in the coming years.

Responsive Design for All Devices

Initially, we explored using a template from Framer. However, customizing it to align with the brand proved restrictive and inefficient long-term. Instead, I designed the experience from scratch, which allowed for greater flexibility in aligning with brand identity and long-term technical scalability.

I developed three distinct design directions, all built with a responsive-first approach to ensure consistency across devices. These variations were presented to evaluate visual direction and usability.

Final Designs

The homepage was designed to serve both quick scanners and deep explorers: Users can scan services at a glance to assess relevance; Or drill down into detailed pages to understand value and implementation

Branding

I was presented with a logo that the firm had already designed. We worked together to refine the brand's visual identity, ensuring it resonated with the target audience and reflected the firm's values. I developed a cohesive color palette, typography, and visual elements that aligned with the brand's personality and the cybersecurity industry. This branding was consistently applied across the website to create a unified and professional appearance.

Learning and Future Work

The involvement finding wasn't in the original analysis plan — it came from poking at the subscale data after the ANOVA came back flat. A confirmatory follow-up should add HRV for an objective signal alongside self-report; based on the effect size here (r≈0.47), that would need roughly 35–40 participants to hit 80% power.

Let’s make something great together!
